At Applied Education & Training, we’re not just offering a Diploma; we’re pioneering a movement towards a resilient future. 10936NAT Diploma of Mental Fitness and Resilience is a ground-breaking, 24-month journey designed to empower you with the expertise to lead mental health innovation in any organisation.

Using positive psychology and organisational behaviour principles and practices, this part-time program transcends traditional learning boundaries, blending live virtual classrooms with real-world application, to develop leaders ready to tackle strategic challenges with confidence. 

Study 1 or 4 modules

Learners may undertake modules individually, or all 4 to attain the Diploma of Mental Fitness and Resilience. Learners undertaking single modules will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

Module 1 - Promoting Mental Fitness and Resilience for Individuals

With a focus on real-world, evidence-based strategies, this learning module offers targeted, hands-on training to empower others to develop their mental fitness and resilience. You will learn how to apply science-based frameworks, implement positive psychology interventions, and create impactful prevention and promotion programs for individuals in any organisation or community setting.

Module 2 - Leading Mentally Fit and Resilient Teams

You'll gain the skills to foster positive team relationships, communicate effectively, and nurture a sense of meaning and purpose. You'll learn to develop a climate that authentically values psychological safety and support, empowering every team member to contribute to organisational wellbeing, resilience, and performance.

Module 3 - Inspiring Positive Change

This module offers you a unique blend of innovative and strengths-based methods, such as Appreciative Inquiry, to skillfully navigate the complexities of change. With a focus on both the science and the art of stakeholder engagement, you'll learn how to develop collaborative wellbeing initiatives that envision an ideal future and map out a practical, stakeholder-supported journey to achieve it.

Module 4 - Developing Organisation Wide Mental Fitness

Whether it's implementing positive education programs, advancing workplace wellbeing, or launching community mental fitness projects, this module gives you the skills to navigate the diverse needs of your organisation with agility and insight. Take a deep dive into developing a robust organisational mental fitness strategy that includes identifying psychosocial hazard risks, implementing preventative solutions, and fostering an environment of resilience and wellbeing.

Learning Outcomes

Upon course completion, learners will be able to:

Assess an organisation's mental fitness, identifying risks and opportunities.

Create, execute, and oversee mental fitness strategies for organisations.

Formulate resilience plans for individuals.

Design and apply a program logic model to gauge and track mental fitness program effectiveness.

Research evidence supporting individual or organisational mental fitness programs, determining contextual priorities.

Execute Appreciative Inquiry processes and initiatives for enhanced organisational mental fitness.

Utilise communication strategies to enhance mental fitness and resilience within organisations.

Foster meaning, purpose, and positive relationships among stakeholders through communication initiatives.
